Oil
North Shore Compressor supplies lubricants and oil filtration for high-pressure breathing air compressors used in fire service, SCUBA, paintball, and industrial air applications. Using the correct oil in a breathing air compressor isn't a preference — the wrong lubricant can carry hydrocarbons downstream into the air your people breathe, so this is one part of the maintenance schedule worth getting right.
Synthetic Compressor Oil
Our standard synthetic compressor oil is available in pint, quart, and gallon sizes, so you can buy a single top-off bottle or stock up for a full fleet oil change. Synthetic lubricants generally offer better thermal stability and longer service life than mineral-based oils in the high-temperature, high-pressure conditions these compressors run under.
Nitrox & Oxygen-Compatible Oil
For nitrox blending and enriched-air service, we stock dedicated Nitrox compressor oil in 1 liter, 2 liter, and 1 gallon sizes. If your compressor touches oxygen-enriched air at any point, standard hydrocarbon oil is not an acceptable substitute — use an oxygen-compatible lubricant rated for that duty.
Oil Filters
We carry replacement oil filters as well as Mako-compatible oil filters, so you can keep the filtration side of the system current at the same time you change the oil.
Which Oil Does My Compressor Take?
Oil type and change interval vary by manufacturer, model, and how hard the unit runs — a department compressor filling a few bottles a week is on a very different schedule than a dive shop running daily. We service Coltri, Nardi, Bauer, Mako, Jordair, Ingersoll-Rand, and other brands, so if you're not certain what your unit takes, call us at 218-226-4695 with your make, model, and serial number and we'll confirm the right oil before you order.
